are you an exponentialist?

You might be an exponentialist if:

-You are in the habit of frequent pitching 

-You hope to “go viral” 

-You compulsively check likes before thoughtfully responding to DMs

-You make a lot of spec work 

-You’re waiting on a greenlight from someone else 

Exponentialism is maybe the most distracting mindset for Artists and would-be leaders 

It puts the user in a “call in the cavalry” position in their own mind and, therefore, professionally, artistically, and emotionally as well

I get it 

It’s hard to admit that no one is going to help you, or that you’re the only one who cares about your shit as much as you do 

But waiting for the eventual exponential hit is sabotaging you from the simple (and sometimes elegant) contribution you can make today 

What are we to do? 

Try a little incrementalism instead
